Chosen Final Six Images:

Test: Digital or Physical

This is my final comparison I will do before I choose my final style. The digital image has it''s benefits, for example the images are clearer. However, I believe the systematic placement of the images and the clean cut sort of feel to it brings less to the overall image. I believe the physical images  on the wall give a better feeling to the idea of emotions etc. Also, I personally believe this style is much more creative than the other image which seems more like a collage than something that is giving a specific message. For this reason I am gong with the physical images on the wall.

Different Styles:

Both the images below have a similar style, however one is presented on a window and one on a wall. When I took my original images I intended on doing it on the wall, but the lighting was a bit too dark. I then put them on the window and it made them much brighter and clearer to see.

After getting some feedback on the images it became clearer what I needed to do. I had to re shoot the images on the wall on a day that was lighter outside. The reason for this is the window images clearly show the blue tac, which I deemed to ruin the image.

Style of Final Images:

My main plan for my final images is to print out all the images I have taken and then stick them onto a wall; with the blank expression in the middle and the abstract images around it. To avoid my own subjectivity in the placement of the abstract images, I will get each person captured in the image to place the abstract images around them themselves, in the area they believe it should go. This will then show a truer meaning to that person individually, also making each image different in their own way.

Update on Idea:

Title of project : Anti-Portraiture

Presenting of project:

I have changed the idea on how I will present my final project. Before I planned to have the portrait image in the middle of the frame with the abstract images placed around them. However, the position of each abstract image would determine the size etc and it may make the audiences subjective opinion of the subjects mood to be skewed. To avoid this issue I have decided to place a physical picture of the portrait image in the centre of a canvas and proceed to throw the abstract images on the floor. This creates an unbiased position for each of the images and therefore whatever judgement the audience make on the emotion of the subject isn't affected in anyway.
