Lighting Task:

Draft for Final Images: (Only one abstract image is mine so far)

8 Possible Abstract Image Ideas:

Abstract Image Ideas:

The abstract images I am choosing to produce will depict something relating to a human, so the audience are able to associate the abstract images to the blank expression image. Not just because of the proximity of the image but because of the contents of it.

MAIN ISSUES:

  1. The first issue I think may arise is what things are sen as 'emotions' or 'feelings'. For example, in my opinion 'hope' is a concept of an emotion, but for someone else they might not see it as that. However, the concept of the project doesn't allow this to be a critical issue as the main factor of it is subjective views of the audience. So if I try to depict 'hope' someone else may see it as 'sadness' etc.
  2. Another issue I may face is how to produce emotions of happiness. Currently I am finding it much easier to depict sadder emotions than happier ones. Hopefully, the subjective view of the audience may see something different to how I am seeing it. Again showing the uniqueness of the project idea, it's down to the audiences subjective projections to truly make their own judgement.

  •  Coffee cup on window ledge - represents loneliness in my eyes, see two human figures out the window blurred. They seem close but at the same time they couldn't seem further away - Picture Taken.

  • I want to take another image of a few t-shirts on a washing line, with one t shirt being a brighter colour and the rest of them being darker duller colours - representing slight happiness or 'hope' in some form - Need to take (Similar to this but on washing line and more to it)
  • Two pairs of white shoes, one dirty and one clean - presenting superiority, envy etc, as the cleaner shoes are 'better' than the other pair - Need to take (Below sort of idea)

  • Smashed mug, something that represents 'warmth' and 'comfort' smashed is rather powerful - presents 'distraught' or 'pain' - Need to take (Same as below)

  • Two light bulbs. One on one not on, depth of focus? - presenting hollowness? sorrow? optimism? depending on what is in focus, the bulb in light or our of light?

  • Cutlery? in a row in order straight 'normal'. But then one disfigured - presenting feelings of 'stressed' 'isolation' etc.
  • Two glasses of water, both half way full - Audience decide a difference 'half glass full' 'half glass empty' ? 'optimism' 'pessimism' difference between the lasses, maybe one with more water around the glass (splashes) one dry around.

  • Piece of paper creating a white background. Pencils but one coloured pencil that has a line following from it. 'confidence' and overall positive emotion. (similar to below, just one coloured line and normal hb pencils next to it)

Possible Style:

Possible style of each image:

Either surround them with the same abstract image, or have each individual one be different. Possible issue with that would be some images on the side don't get presented in full. But at the moment it is just a draft. The intention of it is to allow the audience to look at the abstract image and determine themselves what emotion the person in question is showing.
